A minimum of three entrants is required for the category to progress to judging.

National Awards Eligibility
The winner is eligible to enter the AHA National Awards.

Judging Costs
Venues progressing to the judging phase will be invoiced for the actual cost of the judging process.

About the Award
This category recognises excellence in hotel-based retail liquor outlets.

To be eligible, the venue must have a dedicated liquor retail space within the hotel footprint.

Judging Process
Judges will assess the venue across the following areas:

• Effective and appropriate lighting
• Facilities and opportunities for product tasting
• Customer service and staff product knowledge
• Promotion and marketing of the outlet
• Variety of local, interstate and international products
• Uniqueness of the retail space and product offering
• Product range suited to the local market
• Staff presentation

• Product knowledge and ability to provide informed recommendations
• Efficiency and professionalism
• Staff attentiveness and discretion
• Professional grooming and presentation
• Knowledge of Responsible Service of Alcohol requirements
• Telephone technique
