Best Function and Event Space (Regional and Metropolitan)

Minimum Entrants
There must be a minimum of three entrants in a category for nominees to progress to the judging phase.

National Awards Eligibility
The winner of this category is eligible to enter the AHA National Awards, whereby the judging process may be different to state level.

About the Award
This award recognises the best function and event space in Victoria. It is open to venues that provide function and event facilities for their guests.

Customer service is central to this award, with judges assessing the venue’s ability to deliver a professional, knowledgeable and seamless experience for prospective function and event clients.

Judging Process

This category is subject to an anonymous property visit.

As part of the judging process, a judge will contact the venue and arrange a site visit, presenting as a prospective client looking to book a function or event. The judge will assess the experience from the initial enquiry through to the property visit.

• Function and Events Pack, submitted as a PDF.
• Optional supporting information, including relevant documents and images that showcase your function and event facilities.

What the Judges Will Assess

Judges will consider the overall function and event experience, including:

• Customer service and staff professionalism.
• Staff knowledge of function and event offerings.
• Quality and presentation of function and event spaces.
• Ability to understand and respond to client requirements.
• Range and flexibility of function and event options.
• Quality and presentation of the Function and Events Pack.
• Communication and responsiveness throughout the enquiry and follow up process.
• Suitability of the venue and facilities for different types of events.
